On Tuesday the 14th of November, Reach Subsea AS signed a contract with Kystdesign AS for delivery of two work class remote operated vehicles (ROV). The contract includes complete equipment for two spreads of the model Supporter with delivery planned for second quarter 2013.
The contract for ROV delivery is an important step towards Reach Subsea visions to become a complete service provider in the subsea marked. The contract that has a cost of more than NOK 20 million is signed with Kystdesign AS that also is located in Haugesund, Norway.
“We find it particularly nice that another local company did meet all our demands for technical specifications and quality when we are now ordering our first vehicles. Kystdesign are known for their quality in our segment. That the contract is from another local company does also strength Haugesund as an important area for subsea competence” says CEO, Kaare Johannes Lie in Reach Subsea.
Reach Subsea has a goal to be established in the marked with state of the art equipment, advanced engineering competence and new vessels. The Supporter WROV is known both in the Norwegian continental shelf and international as extreme reliable and technical advanced. It is therefore a good match for the company profile and they are now looking forward to brand this towards potential clients. The vehicles have a depth rating to 2 000 meters and will be delivered with complete control room interface that secures a good working environment for the operators. The technical specifications are prepared in collaboration with Reach Subsea in-house engineering department, and adjustments are made to better meet a demanding marked with great technology development for installation, modification and decommissioning of subsea installations. In the next months, Reach Subsea will hire their own operators; there will also be necessary to hire more personnel for the onshore technical department. In total it will be approximately 20 new local jobs in the company.
