Haugesund, 16 January 2025: Reach Subsea is pleased to announce the official confirmation of the delivery of the REACH REMOTE 1 USV.
The official delivery confirmation marks the successful completion of REACH REMOTE 1 including technical installations, testing and documentation, all of which have been finalized and signed off.
The second vessel, REACH REMOTE 2 is set to begin sea trials soon, with delivery to follow shortly after.
REACH REMOTE is an uncrewed 24-meter surface vessel equipped with hull-mounted survey sensors and a Work Class Electric ROV. Unlike traditional crewed subsea vessels, REACH REMOTE represents a groundbreaking approach to conducting subsea work scopes, with positive impacts on efficiency, safety and environmental sustainability with an objective to reduce emissions by 90%.
Reach Remote is an extraordinary journey, bringing together the unique expertise of Kongsberg Maritime, Reach Subsea, and Massterly shaping the future of uncrewed offshore operations. We are thrilled to see the Reach Remote 1 set sail and prepared for its first mission.
Bjørg Mathisen Døving, VP Reach Remote of Reach Subsea.
The REACH REMOTE 1 USV will now be prepared and outfitted with subsea equipment for the earlier announced pilot project with Equinor, TotalEnergies and other major energy companies and includes a variety of relevant survey, ROV intervention, IMR and monitoring related work scope which will demonstrate the full capacity of the REACH REMOTE spread. The scope of work is part of a full-scale operation and will be executed offshore in the North Sea and Norwegian Sea on production fields such as Troll, Gullfaks, Snorre and Åsgard.
A new milestone has been reached, and we are pleased to officially begin demonstrations as part of the pilot project. We are experiencing strong market interest in these USVs and anticipate capitalizing on this investment in 2025
Jostein Alendal, CEO of Reach Subsea.
