The call represents a world-first: a Norwegian-flagged unmanned surface vessel, remotely operated from Norway, has for the first time sailed into a UK port. This achievement marks an important technological breakthrough and a key step toward broader adoption of remotely operated and autonomous vessels in international waters.

Reach Remote 1 is part of a new generation of unmanned vessels designed to enable safer, more efficient, and more sustainable offshore and subsea operations. The arrival in Aberdeen demonstrates the vessel’s operational capabilities and confirms that the overall Reach Remote model is robust, reliable, and ready to scale.

The visit to the Port of Aberdeen also highlights the importance of close collaboration between authorities and industry stakeholders across national borders. Such cooperation is essential for enabling the future use of unmanned vessels in international operations.

This milestone reinforces our leading position in maritime and subsea innovation and represents an important step forward for the future of offshore operations.

Reach Remote 1 has been operating in the North Sea since summer 2025, supporting several of the world’s leading energy companies. The extensive operational experience gained from these missions further underlines the maturity and robustness of both the technology and the operating model.
