Reach Subsea’s vessel Olympic Challenger was in May 2020 used as platform for Equinor’s installation of a 39,2 km long Fibre Optic Cable between Halten Link to Njord A.
A Reel Drive System with Tensioners and accessories was mobilised in Kristiansund 9th May. Laying operations commenced 17th May. Preparatory subsea work was performed until 12th May when a suitable weather window was in place for the laying operations to start. The laying operations was completed 22nd May. The Project execution lead by Global Maritime on behalf of Equinor whereas Reach Subsea provided Vessel, ROV services and construction services.
